Angel's Reef & the Barefoot Mailman

Angel's Reef sits on the second reef line south of the Deerfield Beach Pier. It's home to two underwater angel statues placed by Dixie Divers and the Barefoot Mailman statue, so it's a dive site with a lot of local history.

The statues
The two angel statues are about 5 feet tall and weigh roughly 900 pounds each. One honors James Spencer Hyde, who died in November 2001, and the other celebrates the friendship of Deerfield Beach divers. The Barefoot Mailman statue, made in 1973, was added in 2015.
What you'll see
Lobster, moray eels and plenty of tropical fish live on the natural ledge around the statues.
