Local Wrecks and Reefs

We've been diving the reefs and wrecks off Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale for over 30 years, and our dive boat, the Lady Go Diver, has been running trips here since 2015. She visits nearly 100 different dive sites. Here's a guide to the dive sites we visit, from the shallow SS Copenhagen shipwreck to deep technical wrecks, with depths and the certification you need for each.

How we pick dive sites
Our captain chooses the dive sites for each trip based on the weather, current and visibility that day, and the dive sites planned for each trip are listed in our boat dive calendar. If there's a dive site you really want to see, call us at 954-420-0009, or book the whole boat with a private charter.

FAQ
How many dive sites do you dive?
We've been diving these reefs and wrecks for over 30 years, and our dive boat, the Lady Go Diver, has been running trips here since 2015. She visits nearly 100 different reefs and wrecks off Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
How do you pick the dive sites?
Our captain picks the dive sites for each trip based on the weather, current and visibility that day. The dive sites planned for each trip are listed in our boat dive calendar.
What certification do I need?
Open Water divers must stay shallower than 60 feet. Reefs and wrecks with sand under 80 feet are still Open Water dives, because Open Water divers stay above 60 feet on the top of the reef or on the wreck's deck and upper structure. Dive sites deeper than 80 feet, or where Open Water divers can't stay above 60 feet (like the Qualmann Tugs), need Advanced Open Water, and dive sites beyond 130 feet need technical training.
Can snorkelers come?
Yes, on our snorkel trips. The SS Copenhagen and Copenhagen Nursery are our most popular snorkel stops.
When can I see goliath grouper?
Goliath grouper are around year-round on some wrecks, and the big spawning aggregation is roughly August through October, especially on the M/V Castor.
Depths come from our crew's dive site notes, the depths listed on our trips and public artificial reef records. Conditions change, so always follow your captain's and divemaster's briefing. Photos on this page are DXDivers' own unless credited.
